StoryInk ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.


1. Information We Collect


Information You Provide

  • Account Information: Name, email address, and password when you create an account.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through our third-party payment processor. We do not store your full credit card number.
  • Content: Scripts, prompts, and other inputs you provide to generate videos.
  • Social Media Credentials: OAuth tokens when you connect social media accounts for publishing. These are encrypted at rest.

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, videos created, and interaction patterns.
  • Device Information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Log Data: IP addresses, access times, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies: We use essential cookies for authentication and preferences. See Section 7.

    We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Generate videos based on your inputs.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Publish content to connected social media accounts on your behalf.
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, password resets, billing notices).
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve our product.
  • Prevent fraud and enforce our Terms of Service.

    • We do not use your content to train AI models. Your scripts and prompts are processed solely to generate your requested videos.


    3. How We Share Your Information


    We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting (Google Cloud Platform), payment processing, email delivery, and analytics providers who assist in operating the Service.
  • Social Media Platforms: When you choose to publish videos, we share your content and metadata with the selected platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, Instagram) per your instructions.
  • Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
  • Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to affected users.

    • 4. Data Retention


  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion.
  • Generated Videos: Stored for the duration specified by your plan. Deleted videos are purged within 30 days.
  • Usage Logs: Retained for 90 days for analytics and debugging purposes.
  • Payment Records: Retained as required by tax and accounting regulations.

    • 5. Data Security


    We implement industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encryption in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256).
  • OAuth token encryption using AES-256-GCM.
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
  • Access controls and authentication for all internal systems.
  • Data hosted on Google Cloud Platform with SOC 2 Type II compliance.

    • No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.


    6. Your Rights


    Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate personal data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your personal data for certain purposes.
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing under certain conditions.

    7. Cookies


    We use the following types of cookies:

  • Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and core functionality. Cannot be disabled.

    The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware of such collection, we will delete the information promptly.

    Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where our servers are located. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.


    11. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)


    California residents have additional rights:

  • Right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used.
  • Right to delete personal information.
  • Right to opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

    We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or through the Service. The "Last updated" date at the top indicates when the policy was last revised.
